1. The Summer Guest by Emma Hannigan.
This one is already on my TBR pile and came out last week. I love the cover, it really does look so summery and it does also of course have summer in the title. I am also a big fan of Emma Hannigan and I love the opening line of the synopsis: A little magic is about to come to sleepy Caracove Bay... Ah just sounds so good and it instantly makes me think of a sunny beach with excitement on the way.

2. The Story of Us by Dani Atkins
I absolutely adored Dani’s debut novel Fractured, so back in April when I saw that she had another story coming out in August I went a bit crazy. It has another gorgeous cover and if her debut if anything to go by, then The Story of Us is going to be AH-MAZING!
3. It Had to be You by Ellie Adams
This is actually by Jo Carnegie, but she is now going by the name of Ellie Adams. I read Party Games by Jo last year and really was an unputdownable book. It Had to be You has been on my radar for a while and it sounds like it’s going to be a really fun read. The worst break-up ever . . . Could be the best thing that has ever happened to her.

4. Daughter by Jane Shemilt
So far, the books I have listed have been lighthearted but I do like to have a psychological thriller in my line up. OK so this one isn’t out until the end of August, but it’s still on my summer radar. It sounds positively chilling and the cover really delivers on this! A Mother’s daughter goes missing, but she soon discovers that her daughter is not at all the person she thought she was. Ooh I have goosebumps already!
5. Your Beautiful Lies by Louise Douglas
And another thriller to add to the mix and the last in my top five is Your Beautiful Lies by Louise Douglas. Another stunning cover! Publishers are getting great covers down to a T! This one has a lot of hidden secrets that have been covered up for 10 years and Annie isn’t quite as safe as she thought she was. I so cannot wait to read this!
There you have my top five summer reads for 2014! I hope some of them have caught your interest, as I know I am eagerly anticipating them.
