I have been seeing and hearing about these black face masks for ages now and I have been impressed with all the rave reviews.

When I received this it was sealed but didn't seem to have a full amount of product in, saying this it seems to last a long time. The instructions were printed on the tube, which was really handy when applying it.

I have used this a few times now and each time I have tried to apply a thicker layer as it hasn't seemed to work as it should the previous times. You know when the mask has dried as it changes from a glossy to matte look. This removed a few black heads but to be honest I did expect it remove more.

I will continue persevering with this product as perhaps I just haven't applied to correctly yet. Due to this I would only give this product 3*.

My Review:

The first thing I noticed about this set was that it comes in a high quality case, perfect for travelling. I travel a lot and I struggle to take my brushes with me as I don't want to damage them or carry them in a giant set, so this is perfect. 

Once I opened the case I was presented with a beautiful set of 12 brushes. These are all very strong and study, the handles are in an unique blue with Sixplus written on them, they have a rose gold head holding the bristles. 

I have really pulled at the hairs in the brushes and not one has fallen out of place. They are extremely soft to touch and when make up is applied to them there is not a lot of waste of product, they only absorb what you need. On applying make up the application was good and I got a full coverage, better than I have achieved with a sponge such as The Beauty Blender. 

I couldn't believe the range of brushes in this set there is:

This is a great face make up set as it includes everything you could want from a set. There is only one downside to this brush set and I am being a bit picky now... On the back of the box there are the instructions to which brush is which, there is also the information about which brush is used for. I would have liked to have seen this as a small leaflet included inside the set, I would find that really useful but obviously I won't be keeping the packaging. I would have also loved a few brush guards included to make sure the brushes stay nice. Like I said though these are minor personal things that I feel could have improved this product further. 

Overall these brushes are excellent, gone are the days of boring coloured brushes! These really brighten up my make up bag and are going to be a firm favourite for travelling. I would recommend these brushes to everyone, they would be a perfect addition to your make up brush collection, I think these are priced well for the level of quality.

My review: 

When this brush set arrived for me to review, I couldn't believe the quality of it, it was definitely more than I expected. It came in a wonderful travel case, this would be perfect to buy as a gift as it is really well presented. It is also great to have all your brushes in one place, where there is less chance of losing them. 

Inside the case there are 11 brushes, each with it's own purpose. There is a guide inside as to which brush is for what. This is also printed on the back of the box too, so if you are unsure of what the use of each one is for you will get a good idea from that. Also in the case there is instructions on how to clean the brushes as well as 5 brush guards. These are for the larger brushes to protect them. 

I really pulled the brushes to check the quality of the hairs. They all remained intact, the handles are strong and don't show any signs of becoming lose. Each brush is very soft and full. All bristles are made in high quality synthetic human hair materials this is much better than them being plastic, they each have a wooden handle and hypoallergenic metal connector, great if like me you are allergic to metal. 

As I said before each brush has it's own function, there is a liquid foundation brush, a powdered foundation brush, contour and blusher brush, a selection of eye shadow brushes, a concealer brush, eyebrow brush and eyeliner brush. This is a great selection of brushes in this pack. I was so surprised there was an eyeliner brush in this pack, a lot of brush packs this would not be present in. 

At £28.99 this seems a little pricey, saying that though you do get 11 brushes, guards and a case. Due to the quality of these I would recommend this set to others. It should last a long time and does give really good results. 

There is one negative I have about these brushes and that is the smell of the case, it did smell quite chemically once removed from the box. The actual brushes however have no smell so I am assuming once they have been exposed to the air for a while the smell will fade. That is also certainly not a reason to not get these as this as a brush set is perfect. The range is incredible and like I said before the quality is brilliant.

This is one of the cheapest palettes I have used but the colours are very pigmented, I also found that the colour long lasting. This is a great every day palette. I am very impressed with this palette and I would go on to buy other eye shadows from MUA. I would also recommend this to a friend. The palette is really cheap at £5.

What I think: 

I was so excited to discover an eye shadow brush in my Glossybox. This is a wonderful brush, really good quality and shaped perfectly to get colour in all areas of the eye lid. The hair is also really soft and feels amazing when you brush it across the eye lid. At £16.50 it is quite pricey for a brush, however I feel you are paying for the quality. This is not the type of brush you would need to replace often. I would recommend this to others and I would look to see if they make other sized brushes.

What I think:

I had never come across Beauty Protector before I subscribed to Birchbox and it is now becoming one of my faviourite brands to use. I was first introduced to the hair oil, which I love and have gone on to buy the full product. I then got sent the Beauty Protector Shower Gel, loved this and again went on to buy the full product. When I was sent this to sample, to be honest I didn't think it could be any better than the shower gel. The shower gel smells amazing and I love it, this body lotion is identical in the smell. 

I personally think this is better than the shower gel now as the smell lasts a lot longer on your skin. The product is smooth and silky and really makes my skin feel hydrated. So Beauty Protector, you have done it again, thins is going to be the next full sized product I buy from you. At £8 you really can't go wrong, it is a bargain.

What I think:

I use eye-liner every day, so if there is a good product I find, regardless of the price I would get it. This sounded amazing, a gel eye-liner, which would last all day and being smudge and water proof would suit me down to the ground. 

This is the second time I have got this product in a Birchbox and although I love Benefit products, this one is not for me. I find it very hard to get the product out of the packaging and it seems that I have squeezed and squeezed it but nothing happens. This could be due to the size of the sample and that perhaps it is too small. 

When I have managed to get the product out it doesn't seem to glide across the eyelid, but seems to clot into a ball. Unfortunately this one is not for me. Priced at £18.50, I would want a much better product. I will not be buying this and to be honest I wouldn't mind if I never got it in a box again. 

I also would not recommend this product.

What I think:

This face mask, just like all other Montagne Jeunesse masks are easy to apply and give you just the right amount for your face. It was very thick when applying it and it smelt delicious! I removed this in the shower, which I prefer to do. (I can make sure I have completely removed all traces of the mask!) It left my skin feeling smooth. 

I was hoping that it was going to help my skin, I used this around the time of the month and I was hoping it would help my breakout. To be honest, I didn't actually notice a difference to my skin other than it feeling very smooth. It could be that I would need to apply it a lot more to see affects of the product. 

I think this face mask would be great for dry skin. I don't actually suffer from this and maybe this is why it didn't seem to do anything for me.

What I think:

This was the first time I have used a self heating mask before, I have always been a little worried by them, not knowing how hot it was going to get. I decided to give it a go and I am so glad I did. From taking this out of the packet I found it quite globby and it began to heat straight away. From rubbing it onto my face I noticed it was quite gravelly, this gave my skin an exfoliation as well as a deep clear. I was really impressed with this. 

When I removed the mask my skin was left feeling soft. I would use this face mask again.

What I think:

I absolutely love hand creams, I have so many of them I have lost count. After loving Cowshed candles and their body lotion, I knew I would love their hand cream. It smells great and leaves your hands feeling soft and smooth. I would recommend this product. It is £8 full size, which is 50 ml. I think that is reasonable for a good hand cream and have spent more in the past on hand creams. I will be buying this again.

What I think:

To be honest this suits me down to the ground with it's name, I cam constantly knackered after work and I have used this after showering in the evening. The slight lavender sent really has relaxed me and made me ready for bed. To be honest I think this has been the best product in my Birchbox this month. full price is £18 and you get 300ml for that, which is a decent size. Would I be buying this when mine runs out? I think I would, it is a lovely product, which makes my skin silky and smooth. I cannot wait to try out Cowshed's other products.

What I think:

I was intrigued by this product when it arrived as it looks like an oil but apparently isn't one. I like to make my hair smoother but I don't like the look of oil on my hair - it leaves it greasy looking and I have to wash it the following day. This is something that didn't happen with the product, I could put it in my hair when it was wet and then blow dry it. It didn't make it less frizzy but I found my hair was softer and seems stronger. 

I would say that a little goes along way, I have found if I put too much in, then it will turn my hair greasy so really make sure you read how many drops to use. 

Will I purchase this product again? Yes I think I would, its £14 so not too expensive for an oil and it does make my hair seem softer. I only wish it could have made it less frizzy too.

What I think:

To be honest, I loved this product, it is so smooth and soft. I had a sample size and this was generous at 15 ml, the full size product is 40 ml so it wasn't that bad at all. It is slightly tinted which is perfect for the summer season and for taking on holiday with you. It feels like your skin is able to breath through the make up and makes it feel so soft once applied. 

The cost for the full size item is £27 and comes in light, medium and dark. 

I think that once I have finished the sample, I may purchase the full size. I would recommend this for the summer.

What I think:

To begin with I was a little worried when I received this in my Birchbox, I thought the colour was too bright just by looking at it and I didn't think it would last very long at all. I was wrong on all accounts. When applying it to the lips I found it to be a gel consistency, which took a little longer to dry than more water based tints. I thought this was a good thing as it gave you time to smudge the colour if you wanted to. The only negative I have about this product is the fact my lips felt very dry after using and I would then use a lip balm over the top to moisturise them. 

This product apparently can be used on your cheeks too, so it doubles up as a 2 in 1 which is great, I haven't actually used this on my cheeks yet. It lasts quite a long time, however you would need to carry it around with you to reapply throughout the day, but it is much more lasting than a lip stick. 

Would I buy this again? After trying the product for quite a while now any early on worries I had about it have vanished and I actually really like the brand. This is £10 full size to buy and I think as it is so long lasting this is a good price, I will be purchasing it again in the future.

What I think:

I think this is actually a really great product, my lips feel incredibly soft when using this and I can actually feel the butter coming through the product. This does come in different shades and I choose the pinkish one, which does go really well with my skin tone. I do have one negative about this product and that is it didn't seem to last very long on my lips after half and hour to an hour I found I needed to reapply. This was a disappointment, however I have got a small handbag sized one as well so I keep this handy in my bag. 

This costs £14.50, which is a lot for a lip balm, however I was hoping it was going to last a long time, I guess I will have to wait and see on that one, only hoping it does as I would be tempted to purchase this again if it is. 

Hair Burst 1 month results

I have been using hair burst now for just over a month and I decided when I very first started taking the supplement that I would document it to review. 

I had very short hair before I started, this was due to chemo that I had last year and my hair has been taking forever to grow. I used to have lovely long blonde hair but since then it was very short and has been too short to bleach it. I have been waiting very patiently for it to grow again, so I go back to being blonde and I decided that if there was something on the market that would help my hair growth I should try it. 

Obviously from having chemo I needed to make sure that everything I was putting into my body was natural and not going to leave me with any nasty side effects. Hair Burst only uses 100% natural ingredients and I felt happy with the testimonials that they already had. 

You need to take Hair Burst once a day first thing in the morning. I keep these by my bed and the first thing I do when I wake up is take them. I really struggled at first to take the tablets as they were so large, but I quickly became use to them. What I love about them is that they are also great for my nails and skin. 

So here is my results for one month. 

The first image on the right in the blue top is when I began taking the supplement, the second image is about a month later. You can see how much it has grown from my neck. In the first image you can see my neck but the second one you can't. 

Not only has it made my hair longer, it's made it thicker too, I can't wait to share with you the results of this months too. I will be posting another post about the difference in my hair on 2 months, I am also hoping that it is long enough and strong enough to be bleached when I go to the hairdressers later this month.

I am also looking out to try other hair supplements to see if they also have such a positive effect. My Review:

I had head about Coconut Oil and the benefits of using it for some time before this arrived in my Birchbox, I already had purchased some so was glad of the extra I had been sent. I use the coconut oil as a moisturiser for my skin rather than using it for cooking. I have tried it for cooking before and it is O.K but I prefer to use it directly on my skin. 

This product is a little strange, when it gets warm it turns to a liquid, but as soon as the temperature drops it will turn back into a solid. I have used it in both forms and it makes no difference how it is. I have rubbed the oil onto dry skin and it has really helped the area that was dry. It is becoming one of my favourite things to use on my skin. I have not used it on my hair yet, but this is something that I will be trying out. 

Would I buy it again?

Yes, so far I have seen the benefits of this product and I like what I see, it is £9.99 for 500ml which I don't think is expensive, you would pay that for a good face cream or moisturiser. I have also been using this on my husband, he suffers from dry skin and it has really helped him. It is a product that just has so many uses. I am very pleased with the product.

My Review:

I had been on holiday in March and managed to get a wonderful tan, the unfortunate thing about going on holiday at Easter is that when you return home, normally the weather is not great and it takes a while to become as warm as it was when you were away. 

On my return I remembered I had a sample of this to try, which arrived in my Birchbox. I decided to give it a go. After a shower one night I popped this product onto my skin. On application it is like an oil and it is transparent, this does make it a little tricky to identify where you have already put it. It also seems to go a long way, my sample size to be honest I wasn't that impressed with but you only need about a pea sized amount to coat 1 arm. Once I put it on my body I went and washed my hands as I was instructed to do so. 

When I woke up in the morning I was able to see the results and I was impressed. It was not streaky and I didn't look like I was orange. I really like the effect I got from using this product and since then I have recommended it to others, after seeing the results on me, they are also just as impressed and asked me where I got it from. 

There is only one negative I have with this product and that is that it smells like a tanning lotion. I wish it had smelt a bit nicer, I could actually smell the product the next day and was a little paranoid that other people could smell it too. In future, when I apply it I am going to go over with a moisturiser to try and mask the smell. 

Would I buy this again?

Most self tans I have bought in the past have been under the £10 mark, this particular product is £24.99 which I do think is quite expensive, however it does leave such a natural look and one that brings you compliments! I think this is going to be a product I would buy for in between times, such as going on holiday in Easter and waiting for the weather to get warm enough for you to develop your own tan. So I think I would purchase it maybe once a year for these occasions.

This book I had seen a lot of and desperately wanted to get my hands on a copy. As a blogger I have recently got into reviewing the odd beauty item and Fleur being a beauty Youtuber I was interested in her take on beauty. I have never watched any of her videos but I will now be searching for her as I enjoyed this book so much.

I really love the look of it, the front cover is just so girly and the theme follows throughout. I love the layout of the book, it is very easy to follow and has some great tips in.

Personally I love the travel part of the book, I am going away soon and I found this extremely interesting and useful. I really enjoyed reading about taking a chunky scarf on a flight even in summer, some of the ideas for the uses of it were really useful and I hadn't thought of some of the uses. I will certainly be taking a big scarf on my flight after reading this. The Glam Guide is very easy to read and the sections are short which allows you to dip in and out of this book. This is a book that I feel I will always be using as it is so useful and covers so many things a girl wants to know.

The overall look of the book is very professional, mature and clean. A lot of Youtube books seem to be attracting a younger/teenage audience. This is the first Youtube book that I have seen that has a more adult look to it and I feel the book has been targeted well for the late 20's early 30's audience. I also believe it will do very well in this age bracket.

I do have one negative about this book, (it's not actually that negative, more like an opinion) that is that I would have liked to have seen more photographs in the book. I do like the mix between illustration and photo's, however I feel it would have benefited from more high definition photographs.

My Review:
I have used this product before, the fact it was in my December Birchbox was a bonus. The last High Beam I had was also a sample size, I have not purchased it since. That mainly is because it doesn't fit my needs. I have had another go at using this product since it has been in my box but again it's not for me. I find it to leave my face very shiny in places and that's not the look I am going for. 

Would I buy it again?
No, it doesn't fit my needs. I personally wouldn't recommend this product but that it only down to the feel and the final look on myself. Many others may like this and I am sure they do. The full size of this product is £19.50 and I personally think this is too expensive.
